One of my friends gave me this stuff called Chemiclean Red Slime Remover since I am having some cyano problems. He said it worked wonders for his tank. Has anybody used this if so what were your results? He also gave me this stuff called phosguard...has anybody used that?
    Thanks

I used chemiclean on my tank and it worked very well, just be sure to follow the directions on the box. It cleared up all my cyano in my bio cube in about 2 days. As for the other product, I haven't used that sorry

I used chemiclean to great effect before. Worked great and just skimmed like it told me to after the allotted time. Make sure you run an airstone.

Like others will tell you, it will rid you of the current cyano, but if your nutrients stay to its liking, it will come back.

Ok, thanks starfish and NinjaBum. I did some reading on chemiclean affecting clams. Did either of you have a clam when you used chemiclean?

I've used chemi-clean in reefs with clams, As long as you follow the instructions, ie: wc after dosage, you will be perfectly fine

Phosgaurd would be your best bet I'm treating someones tank right now with it since they had high phosphate levels and got the slime algae.
