Hi all. I just put a bag of chemipure in my 29 gallon aquarium, replacing the old cartridge filter. My question is this. The claims I have read about chemipure is that you don't have to do as frequent water changes with it, if your chemistry is all within normal parameters. Have others heard this or found this to be true with Chemipure? 3 days after adding this, my nitrates are 0ppm after 2 weeks without a water change. Any opinions out there? Also, my KH is always a little low, measuring at 7 (125). My calcium has always been good sitting at about 420. I have never had to add CA to my tank and it's almost 2 years old. Is this a problem with my KH or should I not worry? Thanks for your help.

    I wouldn't worry about 7dKH.

I'm big on water changes to replenish elements we do not always test for.

But there are many successful tanks out there that have gone years without water changes. thats just not my way :)
