Ryan that is exactly one of the reason I can not make a decision. I have compared a lot of prices. All I can figure out is that the components of one fixture and over all branding is better than another.

I can get a decent 4 bulb fixture for around 300-400.

For the on coming summer and spring I need to get a new lighting system. Investing so much time in to corals and using something that is currently working is making me drag my feet.

Knowing me, if I buy a decent LED mid price range I will think it's the best and greatest at least I hope me and my corals think so.

Cheryl, just get a dimmable and go with it, IMO, I have the top of the line rapid Cree's on half the tank and the value bridgelux on the other half. IMO, either would be great for your tank. I think you'd be MORE than happy with their value one, personally I like the extra color spectrums on the bridgelux, but the Cree version will be brighter, although, I doubt you'll need the extra juice. consider adding the $100 for controllability if you want sunrise and sunset. But if ya do the math on the fixtures, bulbs and energy, its hard not to do LED;)

    Yeah Vinny is old too.

Remember my sps have to grow that is the most important thing. What I would really like is a hybrid T5/LED.

LEDS-LEDS-LEDS!!!;),And I agree with Jerry and Ryan, you seen I've bleached some already, but cranking the lights down sure was a step in the right direction for me,but half the watts, more than enough output, much less heat,10x bulb/fixture life? It's hard not to love em.

Nice add and shots too!I can't wait to see what this brown mystery coral turns into,it's looking so much better already.

2 bulb with a few stunner strips??

BUTTTTTTT, plenty of folks growing some mighty nice SPS with LEDs;)

And that time wasn't an old dig at ya, just vinny likes old school methods;)

    But, now I feel challenged;)

BTW, this new dog rescue is costing me an arm and a leg! Good thing he's a BA dog, how's your new boy?

My new boy is still in Mexico recuperating. He is walking though and he is now neutered. We should get him back next week. We sold Pumpkin Pies to people for their pet over Thanksgiving. Dog biscuit crust with peanut butter, was a huge hit and money maker.

Oh I know no dig. MH was my dream fixture for a long time, all the cool kids had them. Now all the cool kids have LED, I am always one step behind.

Well Don one reason I am considering is because you did. :p

lol, I know, glad your new pooch is recovering;) Have 10 extra pounds on mine now in a few weeks, about 10 more of muscle to go;)

I honestly think ya should do the reefbreeders fixture, hard to beat IMO. And add the sand, I just like the natural look and advantages for other critters;)
