This. There's a lot of this going on.

I'll even attest I did it myself a bit with the tank upgrade. While I didn't adjust the light intensity, things moved around and some things that now have more light than they used to bleached a bit. Most are recovering now however, several weeks later. Everything will equalize with time. :)

I have actually seen this build I believe and thought it was amazing.
That would be my ideal lighting fixture.

    Thanks Chris.
I hear you Jerry, if you know the precautions and do not just buy the hype, dive in without knowing the true intensity you run into problems.

    Dang it Mel,

I am sorry to hear that, but you have a ton of things going on.
Curt seems like he would be all over this, and I would like to hear his opinion.

    We shall talk. :)

Following, boy I am still some what surprised but not really surprised at the same time. Going to watch closely what you choose and how your tank reacts.
    Good idea.
Will equalize with time, I tell myself the same thing every time I change a bulb.

PE insanity, there is no rhyme or reason.

All pieces right next to each other. Flow just about the same or very close to it, same level in the tank. It looks like to me like radial corallite structure has more to do with it than anything else (well except type of Acro).

Red Planet which is supposed to be close to or an actual Prostrata, the corallites does not encase the polyp structure.
Millepora, again corallite structure prominent but not surrounding the polyp structure.
The brown unknown, healthy corals now coloring up some, growing like a weed. The corallite structure is very pronounced and the polyps do not seem as exaggerated.
Again subtle corallite structure more pronounced PE.

Of course all this rambling goes right out the window when you try to add smooth skin like Hawkins to the mix.

Thanks night! RP's are great pieces once they encrust and start to grow vertical. They can be pink and white, green and red and everything in between depending on lighting and water quality. A very hardy sps.

    Hey dskyers,

Thanks for the the feed back. Wish I felt the same way, it is always the strive for the golden ring or nirvana of tanks, it is just elusive. If it's your own tank you never get there. :)

Beautiful corals Cheryl, I suspect the browned out coral will take some time to show more PE. May take months. My formosa showed little to no PE for about 3 months yet grew well before becoming a fuzzy stick.
