Your tank is beautiful! I hope I can keep sps in the near future. I'm not even gonna try until my tank is a year old.

Well I am a tad disappointed. Hard to believe that 1 day in a bag and shipping would do that to a piece.

    Thank you John. :)

At least I have them isolated on one larger rock.

Thank you for the kind words. :)

I'd give it a couple of weeks to color back up. The growth pattern looks close...but that is the fun thing with Joe The Coral...no two will look alike. It has a very unique pattern. You have better polyp extension than I do, although you should as you have some sort of PE voodoo going on in your tank. :p

Mine has a very green base, an iridescent body, blue coralites, and green polyps. All that I have seen are similar, but some polyps I have seen are not green, but more of a colorless beige.

    Yeah. ;D

Too funny. That is the corals name, right now I can not remember why they named it that.

The receipt says" Joe The Coral".

It has been mentioned that Joe's have very unusual growth patterns sometimes.

I guess these polyps could be considered greenish.

It also mentioned that it does not require the most intense lighting and higher flow, seems like a lot of people have them lower in the tank.

Hope you're right about it shaping up. It's sure not the blue/green fuzzy thing I was hoping for.

I have mine placed lower than most other Acro's in my tank. Roughly 11" under water, and 23" from 250W MH. Medium flow.

Curiously, my Oregon Tort is 4" lower than Joe, and is doing great where it is, but another tort (Ice Tort) is in a high turbulence area only 6" below the surface.

ORA release it right after McCain made "Joe the Plumber" an infamous example in 2008.
