chieto help please

i am going to be removeing my bio balls from my 29 gallon bio cube by a hand full every time i do a water change i am going to put chieto in there now instead and uther micro algae duz chieto need light to stay alive and grow or just water? and what other things can i put in there that dont need light to live

 

If you are removing the bioballs, why dont you just replace them with Live Rock Rubble.

I believe LR rubble is better. If you have the room to run a little cheato, maybe you can do that somewhere else in your sump. Do you have a picture of your sump to better help you?

 

do bio cubes have sumps? are u talking about the back part of it im planning on clearing out the middle chamber i might just do 2/3 lr and 1/3 chieto that way i got a good mix

Cheato needs a decent amount of light to grow. I dont know alot about bio cubes but there isnt light in the filter portion is there?

 

There's no light in the filter portion. Solid black back wall. You'd have to put something together yourself to get light there. I know quite a few people do run chaeto back there; maybe search around for some info on the mod.

 

nop maybie i can mount tiny battery powerd lights on the back middle chamber cover ;D
