OK, so this is the first summer with my reef in my new house and I've been seeing water temps in the mid to high 80's and don't like how the corals are reacting. I'm going to be moving thie tank(72g) into an new 110x tall and putting it in my living room so where the temps are a bit cooler. But I also may change my lights from 2-150w to 2 -250w thus creating more heat. So I've been looking at chillers but really don't know what units are the best value. I want some with low amp draw as my electric bill is already high. And priced reasonable but still quality. What would you guys recommend?

Have you tried fans blowing over the top of your tank water? Several ways to cool your tank other than forking out 7 or 8 hundred bucks.

I live basically in a desert and am able to keep my 90g & 55g below 82 degrees with MH's on with a simple fan ocillating over each tank. This is with A/C on though. Even though you may not have A/C, some of the guys on here recommend a $300 dollar window unit that is basically top-of-the line for that much these days vs. a mediocre chiller at 3 times as much.

    Good Luck!
