    HELP!!!

My chiller is having some issues. it was working great until yesterday. the Condenser fan motor went out while it was running. it may have run for a while with that fan not working. I replaced the motor and the fan works great now, but I dont get any cold water out of it. the line from the compressor into the large front coil get quite hot (burns), and the coil just before it goes up to the water tank is cool, but not cold.

WHAT DO I DO?!?! I think it may be low on Refrigerant. it has the valves on the low and high side, so I think I can add more to it. it is the r134a type according to Current.

BTW, it is a Current USA 1/3 HP unit model 2606

Man This dumb thing just wiped out my reply when I hit post .

O.K again is it a Capillary tube system or Expansion valve ? If the head PSI got to high with the cond. fan out then it may have messed up a TXV or a compressor valve . Sounds like you have some gas getting to the point of supper heat heading for the cond coil ? Is the larger one near to the chiller getting cool at all ?

Id its a 134A system ? or a R22 or R 12 unit ? is there any service ports on the system ? and do you have access to a gage manifold set ?

You can call me if you need there are a few touch test you might be able to do and help find the problem hell it could be a slight leak from the excess PSI ad you are loosing gas ? So many things it could be ..

If its worth repairing ? and you can not find anyone locally send it up to me here I'll fix it up and send it back if we can't find the cause over the phone ..

I have the gages boxed up and I put that 134A saddle valve in it and the adapter hose to use my gages on a auto or chiller . I sent you a PM with e/m so you can shoot me the street digits

You can cut the lights back also to keep them cool until the gages arrive go out tomorrow they should be there by Friday. Get a can of 134a you might want to look it over for a leak also a connection and the area will be oily looking from the compressor oil leaking out along with the gas . Leaks on the low side are easier to see then on the high side .

it took a good deal of refrigerant. so far so good. I disconnected the low side gauge and the high needle has remained where it was. we will monitor it overnight and see if it leaks. I think I didnt have good hose connections on the low side so we shall see.
