My new chiller is on the way and I have been attempting to search for the best way to plumb it in the system. Is it okay to just use the existing pump from the sump and put the chiller inline returning to tank. Or should I do it differently. Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I recently add a chiller and I needed a pump just for the chiller because all my other pumps were to strong for it. I did set it up with a new pump and just pumping right back into the sump!

I'd move up t a larger pump if needed less heat and worry then 2 smaller pumps. Pipe it in on a manifold and make sure you have it located far from the aquarium as you can or the heat will just cycle in and out of the tanks water..

It is a 220 gallon with 3-250w HQI/MH , 4-39w 460nm T5HO , 4-39w 420nm T5HO Light fixture. How far away should the chiller be , Furthest and Closest??? I got a prime 1/3hp. How would I pipe it on a manilfold. Any pics of something like that.

    Thanks
