My chiller states that my current tank temp is 82 degrees... my digital thermometer in the tank says 78.0....

Hmm which one is most accurate???

    Is the chiller faulty maybe??

Never rely on only 1 temp probe. I alway keep a old mercury type one around just in case I think something is wrong. Most Chillers have adjustment to compensate for temp difference.
