well, ive noticed now that its be running overnight from the inlet section of the sump, to the return section of the sump.. my refugium isnt getting any flow because the chiller pump sucks the water level below the second baffle..

how is your chiller installed? any ideas?

Why not run it from the same section? Both lines in the inlet or both lines in the return area. That way it replaces the water it "stole" back into the same section.

thanks, thats how it has been running the past few hours(in skimmer section, cant fit this second pump in the return section for the dt), but it has yet to get hot enough to test the efficiency that way.

seems like the chiller is going to turn off before the tank gets to the proper temp because it is sucking up cooled water, just doesnt seem very efficient to me.

also i dont know how chaeto does in colder temps since thats the first place the cooled water goes, i havent checked yet but im sure the outlet of the chiller is in the low 70's

I am looking for a chiller too.... here in Spain it's going to cost me about $600. Bummer that they dont have anything like craigslist over here. Best of luck to you!
