may I ask is there a way to chill a 2 gal tank (total volume) without tec, fan, ice or air conditioning?

I am not into tec due to the energy inefficiency. I have an arctica mini, however, it was kicking in for 3 minutes after every 10 minutes. Temperature without chiller is 32 degrees celcius, chiller set to 25.5 degree celcius.

Would a tec be more energy efficient than compressor for my case? I do not want high energy usage as the electrical tariff over here is hefty.

Going for mixed reef. Singapore. My tank is already having high evaporation rates without fan

    Thanks for the welcome

hmm this is a hard one.
I wonder if it would be economical to try and utilize a home-made cooling device similar to a radiator in a car? or maybe even a highly conductive metal as a "heat sink" for the nano? At least this way evaporation would be less

If it's easy, where's the fun in reefing? =p

A radiator works well in cars due to the huge temperature differences between coolant and atmosphere. I am not sure if the small difference would work as well, especially when the radiator fan is just blowing air around, and no evaporation is helping with the energy transfer.

For mairne, we are sort of stuck with titanium and marine grade stainless steel. Wondering if carbon fibre tubes would be easy to coil up.

For my case, compressor works, even though the compressor would most probably give up real soon.
For tec, i guess the power consumption would be huge since my room temperature is at 29 degree celcius at night with water at 32.
