I don't know if this is urgent, but it's freaking me out and I didn't notice it until today.

The tank must have been banged when I moved recently.

This is in the back lower right corner.

No salt around it so I know no water is coming out. It's about 3/4 of an inch from top to bottom.

What's my risk factor? What should I do?

Ouch bro, I'm honestly not sure at all, but can you get a pic of the rear of it? From the looks and the angle that its at, I'm gonna hazard a guess that because of the angle of the chip and where the water pressure is exerting outward, it should create a almost "vector" force like in an ancient roman arch(if that makes sense) that should hold that in place and spread the pressure out. But that is only a hopeful guess for you! Good luck.

Man, I'm really not sure, I'm gonna say you'll prob be fine, but that there's a chance she'll blow someday. Any structural weakness in something that exerts that much pressure is not great. That being said, the only thing I can think of to help would be to go get some 1/4-1/2" glass cut and silicon it up and down the rear corners of the tank to spread out the pressure and reinforce it. That being said, its really only a guess, IMO. I'd prob just watch it and budget out a new tank. Not real sure how confortable I would feel with that long term.

I have a chip like that on my 90.Its a little smaller and it has been fine for years.I am not saying it didn't make me nervous but I have calmed myself a little with the notion that as long as the integrity of the glass is still good i.e. no cracks then the silicone should hold.;)Good luck Steve I feel your pain bro.:(
