Chiton i think

    Got this in a coral shipment today i think its a chiton the question is good or bad.:confused: dump it in the trash or the tank??

    probobly bad in a tank with coral
    they can be ok but some will chew up corals like zoas and xenia
    so i would remove it

    I dont no if they are good or bad but i have one in my tank & it has lived on my front glass at the bottom of my tank & never done any damage........just seems to enjoy glass cleaning!

    I can confirm it's a chiton... though not sure if it's the good or bad variety.

    I've had a chiton in the tank for about 6 months. It stays on the live rock and changes rocks from time to time. I have a number of zoas, mushrooms, acan, etc. and it has never touched a coral. It's kind of like a Roomba - it changes direction when it runs into a coral!

    Its a chiton, they are reef safe - algae grazers, good addition...

    I agree with this for people with glass tanks. Their teeth are so sharp that they can actually scratch acrylic.

    Consider yourself lucky. They are great cleaners. Probably the best next a sea hare maybe.
    Mine never bothered anything but, eventually died probably from lack of algae.
