So if my water company uses both Chlorine and Chloramines to treat there water at any given time I should buy a Chloramines specific RO/DI unit to remove the Chloramines??? My water company's website they say they get water from 2 different sources...

No idea.... your best bet would be to call Spectrepure directly. Very knowledgeable company.

a normal DI cartridge will remove chloramines, however it will make the life of the filter go MUCH faster.
the chloramine specific one is designed to remove them so it lasts the normal time period. I dont know how effective it is at removing other dissolved ions though.

Guess it all depends how often your water company pulls water from the source where they need to add chloramine

I think there is a carbon block specifically designed for handling chloramines. So I would follow the advise to check with the manufacturer.

Chloramines are not a big issue and are easy to treat with any decent RO/DI with heavy emphasis on the DI unlike what many will tell you.

The chlorine portion of chloramines at mormal drinking water resuduals of 2 mg/L or less is a snap for todays carbon blocks like the 0.5 or 0.6 Chlorine Guzzler types rated at 20,000 gallons. Its actually the ammonia portion that is the problem and thats where a good DI resin and contact time is a must. RO by itself is not real good at ammonia so you must rely on the DI to remove it. This is where the Spectrapure units shine, they have the absolute best DI resins on the market bar none.

Not when you use the sale link.

But Spectrapure is much better of a unit.

Do you think for $149 90 Gallons per Day CSPDI-90 RO/DI System would be good enough for a 37 gallon???
