A monti cap would look good on that mag rock.

Where it is at now, a cap wouldn't make it there is very low light... Also if it did make it, it would shade/kill several quality acros (which eventually will be about 15-20+ different acros), I won't risk that for a $5 coral. Same with where I am thinking about putting the rock on the back wall if I decide to move it. I would definitely rather have the extra room for quality pieces ;) I do have a large piece of red cap in the back corner on the left side of the overflow box and it is already risking removal if it continues to grow towards/ over my millie that is near it.

Rock, that makes sense. In the FTS it didn't look like anything and I couldn't figure out what coral that was. But a rock makes perfect sense.

That makes sense. I've always enjoyed the look of a montu plating out off of the class, but I can certain see the limitations.

What about a zoa garden? Having it isolated prevents it from spreading to other rocks and taking up SPS real estate.

Yeah it is a man made ceramic rock from a company called The Alternative Reef... pretty cool product IMO. I won if during a POTM contest on another site so the fact I didn't pay for it makes it a little cooler too. :)

Yeah monti's are fairly cool in their own right, and I do have the one and will possibly add a couple more as long as I can find spots that wont harm the not so everyday pieces, and still get enough light.

I've somewhat thought about zoa's, but with a kid and 2 dogs I don't like the idea of ever fragging them especially now that I took down my fish room so I don't really have a secluded area to do stuff like that anymore. Also, same with the acan/lps area there is a chance my water will be too clean to really keep them very happy anyway..... the ones in my 14g don't grow, but my sps have done great (although aren't quite as good since I haven't done a water change in about 3 months) and I don't even run a skimmer on that system.

Added a trio of flame cardinals today, stopped in at the LFS to get salt and wife liked them. Nothing other to report at this time, just letting the tank cruise on auto pilot for a little while lol

Will do a FTS in the upcoming week or so for documentation/ see if there is any photographically noticeable growth.

With spring finally here and the rising temps I finally got around to installing my cooling fan over the sump. It is 80 in the house and the tank is holding a constant 77.7 (set max before fan kicks on) thanks to a simple 6" clip on fan hanging over the sump.

    Tank is looking good Chris.
Glad the cooling fan helped. So it kicks on when the tank gets to a certain temp?
