I went and visited my good friend Chris (aka Biocube) today and saw his tank for the first time. It was definitely a pleasant surprise. I was blown away by his LED build. The coloration was incredible and the wiring was organized like a showpiece.

Here is the link to his DIY LED build.

All of his livestock was happy and healthy as well. I cant say there is anything about this tank that I didnt like. Ill let the pictures I took speak for me though.

And the color mix in all its glory. Now including UV and cyan LEDs.

    Very happy hammer coral.

This frogspawn was so expanded it was insane. A very cool and BIG piece!

The way these eagle eyes we colored was too cool for school.

Healthy cleaner shrimp scurrying around the tank.

His six line wrasse photobombed half the shots I took today. lol

I gave Chris this birdsnest a few weeks ago. It was pretty bleached out in my tank but it looks like its starting to morph into something cool for him. Not to mention growing very well.

Sweet eagle eyes and feather dusters under the moon lights.

I had to share these shots because I noticed Biocube does not have a build thread. He should definitely get on that! But anyway, thanks for looking!

It's ALWAYS fun to visit fellow reefers to see their tanks! Great images as well. What white balance setting did you use on the D5100?

    Thanks for the great post.

I'll be building my Biocube thread soon. The first post may be pretty long so we will see, the only thing original to this BC is the shell, everything has been changed.

Agreed. Love the color on the bird's nest and it looks happy. I remember Biocube's wiring job too. Intense! Cool to see people check out each other's tanks too. Thanks for posting!

Beautiful reef, Biocube. I love the LED coloration; nice growth from the coals as well.

    Nice shots, Norg.

This is really Chris's thread I guess, considering it is his tank. But thank you very much on the picture complements! I wouldnt have been able to get good shots if his tank wasnt as nice as it is. And believe me, it looks better in person.

I definitely have to agree exactly. I used the cloudy mode for my white balance setting. I find that it brings out the blues a bit more which is helpful when shooting an aquarium as blue as this.
