    EMERGENCY

My Xenia has not been closing its heads all the way and some of it looks slopped over. Also some of the heads look bent back and don't even try to close.

What could be wrong? Same water Parameters as before but I did figure out that my salinity jumped to 1.026 but I fixed that just now. Could this have cause my Xenia to start looking poorly?

Also, I am getting really tired of the tank being cloudy and I can't find a solution. I changed my pad to a new one last night and also turned everything off but the filter and it still looks the same. I don't understand why it is still so cloudy.

I really need help because I am so frustrated I want to through the tank and be done with it.

    All help will be appreciated.

Also some of the branches are purple and white like kinda spotted if that helps.

Xenia looks fine now, I think it was a flow problem.

Some bad news though is that one of my shrimps died...I think it was because I took out my bigger rock to scrub the hair algae off and break it apart to make a better set up and he was stuck out in the open and on the rock I was taking out. I think it was too stressed because yesterday he didn't eat when I hand feed them and I woke up this morning to find him not moving and like split apart on the group like something ate him.

The only thing I have are the shrimp and some snails and hermits.

So was it the stress that killed him you think? The other one was fine.

You said your salinity jumped up to 1.026. Ive read that shrimp are really sensitive to salinity changes. Maybe that is what caused it.

Yeah, I just read up on that too and that had to be it.

Well I just bought two clowns and I will be adding them in soon! I'll add pictures as soon as they are in and not hiding. Drip acclimating them for at least an hour and a half so will update soon.

Here are some pictures of my new rockscape and my corals.

well shrimps are known to molt and leave behind their exoskeleton.. so maybe it molted and the real shrimp is hiding somewhere. try to look around to see if you can find it anywhere. that happened to me once.. the shrimp molted and i found what appeared to be half of the shrimp in one place and half in other, but it was just that it molted away (found him 2 days later)

also the water COULD be cloudy because of a bacteria bloom (nothing bad) it should clear up.

Don't even try? who speaks such nonsense, plenty of low light corals out there that will grow under just about anything above 2wpg. Mushrooms and most softies will do just fine.

PPL are scared of corals, IME they cause the least problems out of anything in the tank... not saying you should go out and buy a bunch of expensive acros and LPS but you could def get some shrooms and zoas.
