Normally I do it on Thanksgiving night but I had to work this year so we had to wait until the Friday after. My son is now getting old enough that he helps me and really gets into it. Makes it that much more fun.

The sign was supposed to go the roof but my shoulder would not allow it because of the weight of the thing. I was still going to do it but my wife had visions of my falling off the ladder....so. Made it myself with lots of drilling. Surprised I got it right the first time. Didn't come out half bad!

Tried to get a pic with all the lights on at the same time but I couldn't get the shutter timing right. Oh well.

And of course when going to cut down your tree, you gotta dress appropriately. (I didn't plan it this way, just happened, and my wife thought it funny).

Jones Family Tree Farm in Shelton. Amazing place. We normally try a different place each year but I think we will stop now. This place was incredible. SOOOO many trees. The place was packed too. Tons of out of state plates. Apparently Dee Snyder gets his tree there too and used to talk about it all the time on the radio but I only found out the other day when talking to the guy at work who told me to try them out.

Of course the weather made it pleasant too. But it really is a nice place. We had a good time. Lots of tailgaters there as well.

Tailgating at the tree farm aye? :) Shelton is a bit too far for me to go for a tree. Until now, I was getting them (pre-cut) at the old drive in on the Berlin Tpke. but that's gone now. I have yet to cut my own.

I hated listening to Dee Snyder on the radio....he's very pompous dontcha know :)

Nice work. I bet you can see the glow from Rte 8 or 84. Or is that just the headlights from the backup this morning?

LOL funny you should mention that. When I got up this morning and I heard the news about the accident I was thinking "Damn why couldn't I have been working last night, I woulda have been at that call!"

I thought I heard them say they dropped containers of calcium hydroxide all over the highway. I was thinking I could have me a free lifetime supply.

Turns out it was potassium hydroxide.
