Title says it all. Wondering if this is normal for my chromis to do, chromis has been in my tank for six or seven months now and for the wrasse I just add about three days ago. Are they known to be agreesive?

I wish they made little crates for naughty fish. "BAD FISH BAD FISH, go to your CRATE!" Not sure if they are but he/she might be mad there is a new fish in its territory. If he/she contiunes to be a little turd, arrange the rock work a little to redraw the territory. :)

From my experience, after anthias, chromis are the wimpiest fish in the tank. I am surprised to see that you one with such machismo. So, to answer your question, I would say no. Not that this makes it any better for you, but I say good for you chromis, finally representing for your species!

So would the wrasse be too stress or should it be ok with the chromis chasing him around?

It is normal for the old fish to chase the new fish. Don't be surprised if by tomorow the wrasse is chasing your Chromis. How big is the tank and what kind of wrasse is it?

It's a 55 gallon and for the wrasse it's a tri color fairy from what I was told.

I know people like to list Chromis as peaceful but they are Damsels after all. Keep your eye on them, but as long as you have plenty of holes for him to hide he should be fine. Good luck.

Yeah I have plenty of holes but last time my pair of clown fish did the same thing to my wrasse and didn't make it. If I would of known they get aggressive I would of skipped on the chromis

I had a chromis from hell. Very pretty fish, but aggressive gram per gram. I ended up returning it to the store 4 one 3rd of what I paid for him and was even happy for getting that much. They will even chase and stress fishes 4 or 5 times their size.
Good luck, and keep an eye on him. You can try to move the rockwork, forcing everyone to find and re-establish new territory.
