Chromis hiding at night!?

    Definitely get an odd number, otherwise they might really pick at each other, each one trying to be leader of the pack. I've heard success stories with 3, 5 or 7. I don't know how big your tank is....

    Okay thanks! i was planning on getting two more. My tank is a 20 Gallon Breeder style so long.

    Yeah they are gorgeous! i will get three for sure. Just do not want to over crowd the tank...

    Yep that is normal. By day, the ten of mine all school together but by night, a few of them group off into pairs and some sleep by themselves. I have one that nestles in the crown of a feather duster at night.

    just know there will be fighting for the pecking order, two of mine have torn up faces because of it, and currently two are hiding int he rocks and 3 are swimming around

    I have six chromis, and at night they all seperate. Some hide in holes in the rocks, one swims into the protein skimmer box, one sits behind my coralia, and one plops right down in the middle of the sand! Their colors change pretty dramatically, too. Ive had them since June, and they have always done this, since day one. Hope this helps!

    haha nice! Yeah mine nuzzles in a little gap between my heater and glass... he Darts over there as soon as the lights go off like he is scared of the dark poor little guy lol
