Midas blennies normally swim out in the open. That's their thing. Just watch any midas blenny in the store, and they're always swimming out in the middle of the water.

That would be because chromis, along with lots of other fish usually called "schooling" fish, are actually shoaling fish. When it comes to typical aquarium fish, not many really school, whether they're in the wild or in an aquarium. For anyone who doesn't know and is reading this thread like "***?", the difference between schooling and shoaling is whether they just stick around in a general area with each other, or move in synchronization with a set distance from the next fish over.

Chromis are usually considered expendable not only by aquarists but by divers and wholesalers, and most die quickly after reaching my LFS. They're mostly collected via the worst methods, AFAIK.

Yeah I just meant because he (midas blenny) sticks with them as oppose to any of the fish in my tank. He's just one of the crew. Although recently he's been chilling a lot more in this little crevice he calls home. Great fish, I like him a lot.

Okay, how does this stock sound. 1 melanurus, 2 true percs, 1 royal gramma, 1 YWG, 1 Blue gudgeon, and 1 CBB BUT only if it is eating frozen.

I have one blue and one green chromis in my tank. They and a 2-stripe chromis were the first fish in there. 2-stripe was way to aggressive and went back to LFS. Blue and green don't seem aggressive at all. They add decent color to the tank and are fun to watch when they are eating, talk about fast eaters. Overall, i think they are OK. Not especially colorful but not ugly either. Personality wise, they seem alot more dull than my rock beauty and arc eye hawk fish.
