You are running all of this stuff? Not to sound rude but you are going to get to a point where some of it becomes counter productive. There are only so many nutrients in the tank and to be honest, you don't want everything fighting for them. Personally, I have never run an algae scrubber but if you are going to do that, I would remove the chaeto. It's just going to be taking up space.

Well, I should specify. It's not an algae scrubber per se. It's more of an experiment. I am going to cut a piece that is 4 inches in height and 12 inches in length. It's going to lay flat on my baffle where the water flows over. I'm going to see it performs. The skimmer is a pretty poor product (Seaclone), but it is pulling good skimmate (but I have nothing to compare it to). The reactor only has carbon in it and some nitrate reduction stuff (which probably does nothing).

You know, there's a lot of bashing on the seaclone but for a tank under 30 gallons, I think they work just fine with a few mods. If it's pulling gunk, it's doing its job!

Yeah, seems to be working thus far. It's pulled out about a cup of urine colored stuff in a week. I am not sure if it's the amino acid product I am dosing and/or the bacteria from the vinegar I started dosing Monday.

The goby isn't taking to the move very well. He's breathing heavily in QT. He ate a couple of things immediately upon placement, but has since gone down hill and won't eat. I'm sure he'll perk up once he acclimates more. I hope so anyways.

Thanks. I put a towel over the QT and he started swimming around. I think he's already improved.
