Keep on plugging. I know you're disappointed in the coralline change but everything looks stunning although I understand also about lack of growth. Here's some karma that you get both going strong :)

    Thanks!

I bumped my calc up 25 ppms to 450 ppm. That will put me at 1/3 my mag on the button (seems to be recommended) and it also pairs better with my high alk as per Randy Holmes Farley.

We'll see what happens now with feeding etc.

btw, that candy cane in my avatar went from 2 heads to 4 heads in a years time. Looks great, but doesn't grow. Hasn't grown any since the fall. Just one example of my frustration. My uncle and a local reefer were given a frag and they now have massive colonies.....in 6 months time.

It will work out and soon you'll be getting good growth. That actually must be more difficult seeing your frags grow that well in someone else's tank! You're doing everything right so the changes should do it for you!

I don't know what direction to go in if it doesn't. I've tried and upgraded just about everything since the new year. I was getting decent growth out of my birdsnest and monti at one point in time (last fall), so there's hope.

But do you ever target feed it? I target fed my candy cane 2-3 times weekly (usually mysis) and after 6 months it went from one head to at least 20. If you don't target feed, I would expect far less as far as growth.

I used to. It just became a hassle as it still didn't grow. Neither of the two colonies I referenced above are target fed or even broadcast fed.

Bulkhead threaded nut cracked tonight. I have no filtration now. Overflow box is cut away from the tank until I get a new bulk head.

    F&**!

I guess I tightened it too much when I installed it 2 months back and it finally gave way. I have 40x tank volume (780 GPH) for flow from my powerheads and a HOB filter with carbon that I placed on the back. I may consider an air stone just for the hell of it.
