Hello all, as a newbie I think it is time for some newbie questions.

I was thinking that my 46 gallon bowfront may be in need of some circulation help. I was searching on this forum for information, and was just hoping to verify that I may be thinking correctly (there are a bunch of terms and abbreviations used that I am still getting up to speed on!).

From what I have read it sounds like I might be good with a Koralia 1 or 2 to start? I currently have a FOWLR tank (I think I am getting this term right!).

I sounds like this might make the fish a little happier as well as help with some algae issues (already looking at getting away from tap water for that one as well).

Any other thoughts or suggestions? Other products to look for?

    Thanks!

The 1 and 2 are older generation Koralias. They new style are the Evolutions in sizes like Nano 230 and 425, then the Evo 550, 750, 1050 and 1400.

I have an older style K1 along with a Nano 425 in a 16G bowfront reef and they don't put out much flow. I have two Evo 1400's in my 100G reef and the flow is very good for a 60" tank.
I would recommend at a minimum 2x Evo 750 for your system or if you want to go with a single powerhead maybe a Evo 1050.

They flows are very dispersed so while they move a lot of water its not a blast or jet stream like the old style powerheads such as MaxiJets or Penguins, plus the power consumption is minimal, my 1400's draw an actual 5 watts on a Kill A Watt meter.
