    so i was at the lfs today and they had a golden clam on sale and even though i don't know anthing about them i bought it. i know rookie mistake. so does anyone have one or know where i could find out more about them. i've googled it but didn't find anything useful. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    I've never heard of a Golden Clam. That might not be the right ID. Pic would be very helpful. What kind of lighting do you have? Water params?

    hes acclimating right now. as soon as he gets in there ill post some pics. i have 2 55w t5s and water parms good.

    What size is ur tank? Water depth? You might need to keep it higher in the tank for it to get enough light. I'm know pro though so I'm sure someone else will chime in as well!

    its a 34 gallon red sea max. right now i have him at the bottom. should i move him up?

    its a dersa clam. the less colorful the clam, the less light it needs. see ow it does on the sand, its a sand clam. if it doesnt open or opens too much, then move it up.

    Looks like a derasa, you might need more light but they are sand dwellers.
