    Building Stand

Sorry for the delay, had a lot of birthday parties in the last week & ran all new Cat5e cabling at my vet's office for their new computer system. Well I finished building the stand for my sump/refug. Well it's more like a platform. I wanted room to grow & built it super strong. I'm going to cut the top tomorrow which is 3/4in Oak Plywood. The platform is 7' x 2' and 3' in height.

I used 2x4 constuction with 3" drywall screws. Except on the legs in the front, 4x4 pressure treated with 4 1/2" coated lags.

Again I wanted it to NEVER move! As you can see on two of the close ups, I notched the 4x4 for greater support.

Had to do a little modding on my platform. It was 1 1/2" longer do to the way I put it together, which I thought to myself no biggie. I stand corrected. I need that 1 1/2" so that my new fancy water barrel can fit. It can hold 66gal (250L) of water. ;D I also still have my Rubermaid Brute that I'm still going to use. I'll post the pics of the barrel soon.

Painted the supports last night to match the wall. I have already cut the top & going screw it down and give it it's 1st coat of poly. I used Minwax Helmsman Spur Urethane to give the wood a GREAT protection.

Installed the CAT5e Modules & weather protective covers over the outlets & data ports. The wire dropping down is a water sensor that is connected to my home alarm system. If it gets wet, the monitoring company calls me. ;)

Applied the 2nd coat. Looks like it's still going to take a 3rd coat as well..
