Not very impressed with this urethane so far, I think it's too watery. The wood is just soaking it up. So, got a little frustrated & literary poured the 3rd coat on. I had originally counter sunk the screw & was thinking "Ah, no need for wood putty, the urethane will fill it in" Boy was I WRONG!

The urethane is being absorbed around the screws! So to increase the drying time, I put a dehumidifier in the room & closed the door to basically bake the coating to harden quicker, so it wouldn't have time to seeping into the wood. I'll find out later if my crazy idea worked. I hope so, I'm running out of urethane!! ;D

Well pouring on the urethane sorta worked. It did seal some of the screws & got a really nice gloss, though I did miss some spots. Went to Lowes & bought clear fast setting Epoxy that mixes while applying. I applied that to the screw holes. I thought I'd give the stand a nice look, so I purchased some quarter-round molding to dress it up. Ok, applied the forth & final coat of urethane last night using the similar pouring idea.

Wow it's shining now, you can see the reflection on the wall from the light, granted it is wet! One little hiccup, I have to buy the molding for the front to make it look nice & protect the edging.

The forth coat, well it's about 6-8 coats since the last 2 were poured on looks GREAT! I added the little bit of trimming from the scrap finished plywood I had in the basement. I gave that a coat as well. I need to pickup some molding to give the front a nice protective edge, but it's been pouring
outside. Just need the rain to stop, so I can go to Lowes.

Hey, look who finally showed up.. LOL... Wow took you, just as long to get your skimmer back up & running!! ;D About 5 months on both..

Yeah, she is getting there. I stopped by my future mother in-laws house today to pick up my Rubber Maid barrel & my skimmer that was in it while I was storing it there since the move.

Well, it's been pretty much a pond outside where ever I go with all this rain, so I still haven't been able to get the molding I need. So, I figured I could start laying out where things might go.

My 40gal Sump/Refug, Reef Devil Deluxe Skimmer, Aqua-C Collector Container, Rubber Maid Brute 32Gal Barrel & my new monster 66Gal Barrel, and of course what keeps my going Dunkin Donut's coffee. I still need to figure where I'm going to mount my RO/DI system.

Any input on ideas would be great!! ;D

Well painted the door & trim to the room last night. Will need a 2nd coat, but since I've been limited to what I can do till the weekend I would get it over & done with. Hey I can finally install the door handles. :)

    Mr. Admin,

Will you be going with cipher locks and perhaps a retinal scan to gain entry?

    *grin*

Man - this continues to look awesome! I cannot wait for the fish and critters part!

    Keep it going!
