I still can't tell whether that's diatoms or cyno. Hmm...

In either case it's likely due to the nutrients contained in the tap water you used. I'd say once you start using RO water and you do a couple sizable water changes it should go away.

Wow! Ckiel good looking setup, very good work, but one thing! you need to move your
pc some where away from the tank, due to salt water and electronics don't mix, the tank is fine but the pc can't take the moist

Im hoping to move the whole setup in the very near future and make the tank in wall but have to talk the wife into it first (by talking her into it I mean just cut a hole in the wall while shes gone and hope for the best :cheesy:). Now if only I could quit getting all these bills so I could get my RO/DI unit!!

Question for everyone... would 1 - 400w MH along with a few t5's be enough lighting for my setup?

It would be enough light but you will run into shadow issues from the center brace. I'd opt for 2 250 MH's if you can swing it.

    +1 I have a 250 over my 40g breeder and couldn't imagine a single light over a tank any larger. Even a 55...

Well I am probably going to buy an RO/DI unit this weekend and possibly a protein skimmer. I am going to work on my sump/fuge tonight and hopefully get that taken care of.
