Thanks, I'm trying to get this SPS thing going!

I am going to be adding a 15 gallon display fuge in the near future. Would this allow me to add a few chromis to my display? I think I am almost or at my limit on fish but with adding this in would it help me to be able to hold 2-3 chromis?

I would say you are good for a couple of chromis for now. Love the FTS.

I just feel like this might be too big? I have no idea about plumbing etc so I need some help.

Is this too big of a bulkhead for my 15 gallon fuge? Will my overflow box be able to keep up with flowing into my sump and into this with that big hole in the 15 gallon? As in the 15 gallon won't drain faster than the overflow box can put into it will it? This is way bigger than I though and I don't know if it will work.

Also, when drilling this. How do I get started? Place the bit flat on the glass or at an angle? Also, do I apply any pressure or just let it go? Do I do it all at once without stopping? My drill has a setting on the top of 1 or 2. Also, I want to keep it at the lowest setting on the dial that goes to 30 right?

Sorry I really haven't worked with drilling or anything like that before. Thanks for the help.

The water will flow out as fast as it comes in as long as there are no blockages and everything is sized correctly. As long as the plumbing is the same size or larger than the overflow you will be fine.

You need to place it at an angle unless you have made a template that is soludly mounted to the tank. I would suggest making one that has a hole the same diameter as the glass bit to get the best results. Also place a piece of wood on the other side of the glass where you are drilling to prevent splintering the hole. Just clamp the template and wood piece to the tank. Drill slowly with light pressure.

Sorry I really haven't worked with drilling or anything like that before. Thanks for the help.

Just drilled and at first it scared the crap out of me, but I got it done. I did however have it jump on me a few times so I scratched the back up next to it a little.

Got the plumbing today but I need to build a teeny tiny stand for it, maybe I'll try and get that done tomorrow.

I am wanting to use my old Coralife T-5 2 bulb fixture on it. Will this be too much light for a fuge?

Can I have half fuge/ half frag tank? Or will they not do well in it?

Congrats on getting it done. When I did mine, I had someone else pour water on to the cut area. I actually cupped the bit with my hand to hold it in place so it would not skip. Idea for next time maybe.

I use a 2 bulb t5 fixture as well. I see no problems with it.

I personally would not mix a frag tank and refugium. Refugium do better with low flows. Most frag tanks need much faster flow.

Not sure if I did this wrong.

Is this too much weight to have on the bulkhead/glass?

If so what can I do about it?

Finished the stand and plumbing today! Now all I have to do is mix the water and wait for the order from John to come in!
