That sounds like the shrimp thought it had a great place to call home and wiped both out.

Not cool, I dont know what to do anymore, Its mantle is shriveling up even more and retracting inside..

:\ I just wanna pull it of the tank but RE has yet to respond to me in any manner.

They are probably still busy with shipping from this weekend. My Thunderbird chalice had some shipping damage to it and I sent them an email about it around 4 hours ago but no response.

I wouldnt worry about it at this point. Stressed from shipping...what type of lights do you have. Make sure you remember the clam was in a dark box...so need to light acclimate it.

The shrimp is more the likely a commonsal shrimp. Here is a pic I found from another link. These shrimp live on the inside of the clam on its gills. You can occasionally see one of them inside the clams when they are open. More then likely it died during shipping and was expelled out

I try to look for them in all my clams...they dont hurt anything but neat to see! I saw one once in the inside of my large clam!

Thanks ! That looks like the shrimp! Very cool did not know that.

The clam Did not make it. It rolled the mantle in further and got real crunchy looking. The fish tank started to smell rotting. Took it out and did a 20% waterchange :(.

FYI Im not bashing or dissapointed with RE. They are good people to work with and I want you all to know that! It probably was a fluke that it died on me. I was more posting In concern of the clams well being at this point. But thank you all for your help.

    +K
