Can I have a blue starfish with my to maxima clams? My clams are about 3 inchs and the starfish is about 4 inchs? On live aquaria, they say that the purple linckias and clams don't mix, but nothing on the blues. Thanks for the advice.

And why do you think that they know something that the experts don't know?
I personally will take the word of marine biologists like Rob Toonen, over the word of those on a site trying to sell the linckia, with no staff near as qualified as Rob Toonen.
His credentials can be found at:
    Rob Toonen Lab Home Page
There are very few linckia's surviving long term in hobbyists aquariums, especially smaller systems.

I've had my blue linkia for over a year and does not bother any of my clams (2 maximas, 2 derasas, 1 squamosa)..I don't understand why blue linkias are so hard to keep, mine does just fine and I dont do anything special

While you have managed to keep your specimen that long, most do not. Even so, you may or may not have it a year from now.
It's not impossible for them to survive in a hobbyist tank, only an improbability that they do so.
If you had been one of the many with losses, you would understand then.
