    my friend had astro turf around the edges of the tank he keep the octo in..
    they dont like the feeling, so he says, he had it a year in an open top with just a half inch of a turf....

    I saw this done at Oysterfest here last year. A really cool aquarium set up they had. A bunch of 10 and 20 gallon tanks all hooked into a master sump that was cooled with a chiller. Probably didn't need it though. It was none to warm that day.....
