looking to see what i will need for a cleanup crew for my new 40 gallon breeder?
any suggestions are helpful, im not sure exactly what i wanna get, i looked at reefcleaners.org but they keep showing nassarius snails but i dont really wanna do those since i know they can be very aggressive.
please any suggestions are welcome, will be a mixed reef tank with fish

Cerith snails (Florida ceriths are larger, dwarf ceriths are smaller).
Nerite snails (congregate at the top all day, work at night).
Turbo if you need a big snail or two.

We bought ours at various LFSs a few at a time rather than a large crew since there wasn't much to eat when the tank was new.

A fighting conch is good for stirring the sand instead of nassarius snails.

Not sure what you mean by Nassarius being "aggressive"...they pop out when they smell food and if there's any on the substrate, they eat it. We keep a lot of bottom-dwelling fish, and never have any trouble.

I agree with SushiGirl as far as the Nerites (get the brown ones that have black markings...less intertidal than the black ones) and Ceriths go, but unless you have a HA problem, I'd go with Astrea or Trochus as Turbos can be pretty clumsy, and will also eat macro algae if you keep it in the DT.

I know peeps say Astreas can't right themselves, but we have them in all of our setups (14 of them), and rarely have any trouble with them tipping over unless the snail is sick.

talk to john at reefcleaners, he can and will customize a crew for you if you tell him you dont want the nassarius snails included.

think im gonna end up going ceriths, nerites and trochus
will have a pistol shrimp / goby pair to help with the sandbed
thinking like 20 ceriths, 20 nerites and 10 trochus, what ya guys think?
