I just bought a new skunk cleaner shrimp yesterday and acclimated him for 1/5 hrs with drip method along with a bicolor pseudo. The bicolor is doing fine. I am looking at the shrimp now and he is not moving, he's pale and I tried to poke him with a tube but he's unresponsive basically.

You think he's dead? And also why would he die so fast like this? This is my first shrimp in the tank!

I tested all my water yesterday before I bought him and everything was as follows:

    Salinity - 1.025
    Temp - 78.4
    Ammonia - 0
    Nitrite - 0
    Nitrate - 0
    PH - 8.2
    Calcium - 450
    Mag - 1120 - a little low
    KH - 15 - high
Phosphate - 2 - very high, but I just added RowaPhos to a phosban on friday so that should hopefully come down soon.

What do you think was the problem here and how can I fix it?

    Thanks!

Also should I dose anything if so...what?

Are you sure he didn't just molt? I've had that happen and thought the same thing.

Not sure at all...I'll keep looking for the real one then I guess.

But the one I am kinda poking looks like the real thing...

Its moving kinda too....but that could be the current.

Why would they molt? - Stressed? How do I tell for sure whats going on? - Time?

Usually right after molting they will hide for a few days until they're new shell hardens. And they usually leave the molted shell out in the open as a distraction. Sly little creatures they are... Just keep looking in hiding places, hopefully he'll pop up somewhere.
