Cleaner Shrimp Identity Crisis

A little background: i've been losing blue leg crabs, about one every week or two. i wasn't too concerned about it, i just thought it was crabs being crabs (fighting over shells or what-have-you). no big deal, they're like 50 cents a pop and i have a ton of them

today, not a minute ago, i'm sitting in front of my tank writing on my laptop when i see a flash of red and white. i look up to see an epic battle already in progress, my cleaner shrimp reared up and looking fierce and one of my larger left hand crabs waving his claw in the air. before i know what's going on, my cleaner pops the crab a few times and PULLS him out of his shell! the shrimp then proceeded to rip up the crab and, i assume, eat him. what the crap?! did the crab say something about the shrimps mother? did he put on a yankees cap? or does my cleaner just think hes a freaking mantis?

 

Are you sure its a cleaner? Mine only has those little claws, no way it could shred a crab. That's one mean shrimp.

 

He punked his mom so the cleaner had to show him what was up.

The crab was definitely alive right? Current wasn't just waving a dead appendage? Haven't heard of renegade cleaners, LOL. He had to have said SOMETHING about his mom to get that. Either that or the crab was wearing a SOX cap

 

i know without a vid no one is going to believe me. i dont believe it. the crab looked conscious and very responsive.

i have no clue whats up with my tank. i have the most aggressive fish. my male clown has drawn blood from me and bites the crap out of me whenever i'm in the tank. my cleaner shrimp is killing off crabs and my wife swears on her sainted aunts grave that a nassarius snail killed our peppermint shrimp (yeah, even I don't believe that one). someone must be sprinkling PCP in my tank

 

did you buy your cleaner on the south side of town? think its meaner than a junkyard dog?
