i have or had a pair of cleaners for i would say i year. one of them kicked the bucket today/lastnight. both were of good size. the one who died spent the past couple of days hiding in the rock work. the only things i have changed are the addition of dosing iodine and salt. kent-seachem. i add less than a cap full every other water change. water changes are done once a week. 2 gallons, tank is a biocube 29. the iodine is for my xenia. all other fish corals etc are good.

I remember the first time I seen mine molt...thought it was dead for sure.
But you have had yours long enough to have seen that little trick.
I keep losing my pep shrimp...for no apparent reason

thats a bit of a personal question isnt it? no just hermits. ya the shrimp molt every couple of weeks. like i said he was hiding in the rock work for the past couple of days before he died. i am wondering if this is normal for them to do before the go?

yeah you prob. got them when they were a good size, so i assume it would be from old age, sometimes if you get them small enough they will last for a long time, so i suspect that your other one will go pretty soon as well.

i woudln't be dosing that amount of iodine that consistently without having a iodine test, not sure if you have one or not.. cleaner shrimps have a short life spand, it's most likely from old age, sorry to hear about the loss, at least they lived a full fulfilled life :p
