Cleaner Shrimp life span?

yesterday i noticed my coral bandit shrimp chowing down on my cleaner shrimp, not sure if he killed it since they have been together for 2+ years with no issues. then i get to thinking and ive had my cleaner shrimp for roughly 4 years, so im wondering if maybe it just died naturally.
anyone know what the average life span is?

 

4 years is old. 2-3 is typical on cleaners.

 

FWIW, I had a CBS for about 8 years...it was HUGE and cranky!

yeah evolved i was kinda thinking 4 years was a pretty good run.
and yeah greg my CBS is pretty cranky and huge also, ive been thinking about trading him in but just cant part ways with him yet, alot of personality. my assumption is he was just chowing down on the cleaner after he already died. bummer.

 

I had a bloodred shrimp live 5 years once but Evolved is correct IME typically 2-4.Unfortunately it is not so easy to answer your question.Unless you can find someone who has actually conducted a study the only real info. is from other aquarists.Sketchy. I have kept cleaners for years in fowlrs.never again will I have one in my reef tank.

 

I have a coral banded thats been with me since my first salt water tank i set up in 04. He was a jerk then and he is still a jerk now. lol I also have a cleaner thats prob in the tank about 3 years. Very active still but he is old I guess. lol
