Consider yourself incredibly lucky if you have never ever had a single causality in your life either !!!

I just bought my first cleaner shrimp yesterday and I haven't seen it since it went in the tank ? Hopefully, it is off molting somewhere like Corailline said :-/

I prefer to be safe than sorry. It works excellent for us, short of qt. I am not one to judge someone else's methodology, but I never had consistent luck with short acclimate, so for us, it's not overdoing it. To each their own I suppose.

It depends on the source of the new animal also, but I would still do longer acclamation as it allows them to adjust gradually. They seem to kick off eating and "getting into the flow of things" much faster for us also..

Anything over 30 minutes is a waste IMO. I've never lost an invert and I have a lot of them. Tp each there own though. Do you test for copper or have any other inverts?

Why? shes right, i never drip my new fish, only float for a 10-15. inverts ill drip for 15-30 maybe, after they have too been float acclimated for temp.

Key is to start with a Styrofoam cup (or any cup, i use mc donalds sweet tea cuz the opening is large.) Take out as much water as you can while leaving adequate room for your new guy.

place the bag in the cup, fold the bag over the mouth of the cup, grab a rubber band to keep it from moving, and drip a drop or two a second, and your salinity will change faster than doing it in 5 gallon buckets, as ive seen done many times in the past...

make sure to test salinity of the fish store water and yours, and test during the acclimation. (this is where refracometers are a must!)

Ive never lost a coral, invert, fish doing so... knock on wood... lol
