How often do you have to clean your Aqua C skimmers?

Mine seems to scum up after about 10 days, and output goes way down.

Is there something I need to adjust? - Right now, I am cleaning it out every time I do a weekly water exchange -seems I used to have to do less often.

I clean the cups on all skimmers weekly the collection cup throat will scum over causing more resistance then is needed so the bubbles will pop to soon and not foam onto the collection cup. So on a weekly bases I rinse all my cups and the riser throats ..

Yeah, I clean my collection cup and riser tube weekly as well. I also clean the skimmer with vinegar and a hose 3-4 times a year.

As with any skimmer, once it gets detritus/skimmate etc. on the top part of the skimmer beofre entering the skimmer cup, it will decrease in efficiency and effectiveness!
A regimine of cleaning it weekly or every other week will help to reduce this from happening! It also depends on the bioload and chemicals, etc. that you dose/add to your tank!
