cleaning bottom of the sand bed

    hey so the title pretty is my question. what are effective ways of cleaning the bottom of my sandbed. I have argonite sand, therefore it is very fine. what can go under the sand really effective. I have a sifter starfish, but im assuming i need to work harder.

    Are you having a problem with the sand? algae etc?? or just want to know how to keep clean?

    Two words for ya dragon goby that is a sand sifting little critter he will clean it redo move it from one end of the tank to the other put it on top of your rock and never seem to get board with doing it lol.

    i have a diamond goby, one night my algae infested bed went from gross to WOW!
    :D and he'll be your little arcatech he makes caves and houses :)

    dimond all the way. Just got one and almost has entire bed turned. and also narssrus snails will help too

    Yeah, My Yellow head sleeper goby sifts sand from when the lights go on until they go off. .. However if you keep bottom corals he drops sand all over them. Doesn't seem to hurt my corals so far ,but I still don't like that part.

    I have one goby in my 90 gallon tank. My engineer goby is a monster when it comes to moving sand, hence the name. Its great because I have never had any algae on my sand at all since I have had him. The only problem is, that he is really good at his job. He really likes to keep the back part of the tank spotless(behind the reef) which is nice for me :). If you can deal with some mounds of sand here and there then I would say an engineer goby would be a great addition.
