    Hey guys,

This may be silly but do any of you have to clean your lighting components?

I ask because my T5s are housed inside my canopy and have salt on them from the water surface breaking.

I didn' know if it would be ok to shut the unit down, let it cool completely and rinse the bulbs and such.

Of course I would dry everything well and use WD40 or something on the pins but I feel that a lot of light is being cut out because of the salt buildup on them..

    What say you, 3reef?

I clean mine off all the time. I try to do it before the lights come on. I just get a damp/mildly wet cloth and just wipe them clean.

I use "RainX" on a lot of my class pieces. It's like wax for glass that reduces water drops being able to stick to glass.

I'll have to look in to that.

It's stuck on there pretty good. I have a feeling I'm going to have to actually rinse these. It's like little salty stalactites :shifty:

Wouldn't that put a coating on it that could potentially decrease your available output?

To answer your question... I don't know  . If someone had a light meter and could check the results before and after the RainX is applied is the only way to know for sure.

However... I followed the instructions and with a little elbow grease the glass looked almost invisible. I use this product on all of my vehicles, on all the glass! Its really a good product.
