cleaning sand

    So getting this set up 55, and i should clean the sand??
    Whats the best way to do that?
    Can i use tap water, or well water to rinse the sand?

    This is just my own opinion but I would never put used sand in a new aquarium. For a 55g that would be two 20lb bags of Agra Alive sand and be about $35 plus you know that it is good sand.

    so taking down an established tank just to put it back up i should just put new sand in it?
    I always thaught this would throw my tank into swings, and spikes.
