My water is very calcium saturated. That means lots of lime deposits. I was looking at the black stone sink and though 'Too much Ca build up needs mag.' So, I took 1 part "Magnesion" and 2 parts vinegar and mixed it. It smelled terrible, really terrible- like sulfur and vinegar.

But after I cleaned the sink as usual, I applied it and lime was coming off left and right just w/ a paper towel. The paper towel got really nasty and chalky from all the lime. After I was done I olive oiled it (as usual) and

    IT LOOKS AWESOME!

I bought some magnesium sulfate (epsom salt) yesterday since the aquarium version is pretty expensive for that application. I was just wondering if anyone else had done this or has a scientific explanation to how it works

I just tried it w/ Meijer brand epsom salt and it didn't work nearly as well. I don't get it.

I just use straight vinegar and that works just fine.
