Thanks! The mag disks work great for covering the skimmer intake.

I think the Birdsnest has reproduced. I noticed some polyps growing on the back and side glass. Upon further investigation I found that Birdsnest is a common name used for Pocillopora and that they are known to occasionally reproduce in a reef tank.

They are different species from the same family. Stylophora are part of the family too.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Birds nest is Seriatopora.

But yes Pocillopora, can readily spawn in the aquarium. They are also capable of reproduction via polyp bail out. Something to consider as they can be prolific in a tank.

Ah, common names can be confusing. Live Aquaria had Birdsnest listed as one of the common names used for Pocillopora.

Yeah the common names are used for several different corals in many cases.

    Definitely.

Sometimes it gets really hard to tell the green BN from the pocillopora.

The rounded tips throws me off all the time, and "cats paw", that stumped me for along time. I had no idea it was a Stylophora until 2in10 pointed it out.

I've been wanting to come up with a use for the waste water that comes from the RO/DI unit and I have some Hops growing in the backyard that could use regular watering. So today I ran a hose from the RO/DI in the basement through a small hole in the wall and out to the Hops growing in the backyard. I poked a hole in the hose next to the first plant and cut the end at the second plant. Now when the RO/DI runs the Hops get watered :).

Here is a diagram of the RO/DI system:

Thanks! 40B are sweet, but I bet you'll really enjoy the bigger tank.
