I have a pro clear impact skimmer that is mounted outside of my sump. This skimmer is it is a two piece unit that is sealed by compressing an o-ring with thumb screws. If you don't get them all equal or some dirt is in there it sometimes leaks. Because of this I placed the skimmer in a bucket that was cut in half. I cleaned the skimmer yesterday and went to work. Got home last night and something told me to check it. Good thing the bucket was there or there would have been a wet carpet. Would not have been happy!

I put my skimmer over-flow jug inside a bucket, just in case.

Hi Steve, if I were you I would use a drain line. Use some air line tubing, drill the appropriate size hole 3/4 up in the collection cup and run the tube to a milk jug (or something bigger if you have room) through a hole in the cap cap. My skimmer is in my sump but I still have it set up that way for piece of mind.

I have a gallon jug on the overflow for the collection cup, I took it away for the picture. The place it leaked is marked.

Hey tangster, called those guys and the collection cup with shut off only works for "pressurized" skimmers. He said I may be able to possibly alter my Cora life super skimmer, but, maybe not. So, for those with the proper skimmer, great! I was all hopped up, who knows, down the line if I can alter mine or when I get a new one (I liked the "Red line" series) I have them in my Favs and will check them out again.
