Although I'm not sure if cloudiness is the right word, I think you get the idea. I just set up my first tank (salt water, live sand, and some live rock) and I guess I wasn't expecting how long the particulate would remain suspended. It's been a few hours and it's still only a few inches of visibility, is that normal? I used the black sand if that makes a difference, and I don't have any flow yet - tomorrow's project. It's an 11.5 gal and... wait... now that I've got the light on again, it's looking a little clearer. Oh, man what have I gotten myself into??? I blame all of you ;D

Don't worry! My tank took about 2 days to become completely clear. It takes awhile for everything to settle. Seeing what the tank looks like will be a nice surprise when it clears!

Alright good deal. The LFS said that flow isn't a big deal now, but that it'll probally cycle more smoothly if it did, does this sound right? I plan on buying a power head, but should I wait?

I would go ahead and get the powerhead now. Can't hurt.

Well, I'm waiting on the powerhead (my teacher is making a marine depot buy this week so I'm getting it then). Thanks for the reply and the cloudiness is completely gone now that I've got a HOB filter. I'm sure I'll have more newbie questions soon.
