    there are way to make on for a cannister filter. he oils all stay on top like with a swimming pool thats why they pull the water off of the very top in those skimmer boxes with the flapper check gate to get the oils out. I have made these thing for a few people using a hang on display cup like many LFS use to hold and catch fish drill the bottom and fit a barbed fitting into the hole then fine the normal water level and then cut strained type grates all along the top rim of the box to about 1/4 below the normal water level then connect the suction line from your filter to the barb fitting and then when you start the filter the water will be skimmed and filtered from the top..     wake up this mornin to go and make myself a surface skimmer .. took a look at the tank the cloudy film all gone yyyyeeeeeeeaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!8) ;) :victory: :laughy: :yelrotflm
