    Slow down, cowpoke... is there anything left alive in that tank? If so, then your test kits are bad. No way anything could survive an ammonia spike of 8 (or nitrites at 5, for that matter). Nitrates at 5 are pretty much harmless.

    Dosing Prime and performing WCs to help clear the water won't hurt, but you should get another test kit ASAP to help determine exactly what your nutrient levels are.
