Are you running a Protein skimmer right now?
In your sump is there a lot of air bubbles.

If it's not your ALK. the next step I would do it power off everything. Then just lower a Power head to the bottom and just run that and a heater in the tank. This is to eliminate the the possibility that a mechanical devise is the cause of fine air bubble being introduced to the system. Run like this for 2 days. If it clears up let us know

    you used IO salt right?
There was a bad batch running around.
If this looks like a creamy cloud of water then change the water out.
If the clouds look like tiny bubbles then check the equipment.
Like mentioned before start turning off all equipment and see if this helps if not change the water.

Ah, watch out for posting rumors unless you have all the evidence in hand. IO can sue you for such an alligation, it's nearly happenned to me all ready with another salt company (and I did have the evidence + personal experience). Just a warning. The use of IMO denotes an opinion, not denoting that concludes its a fact.

FYI, I have all the proof GRISH and they have the proof and Randy Holmes Farley tested it. It is no big secret about this batch of IO. IMO FYI

when you washed your tank did you just use tap water and nothing else? also ask your friend if he ever used anything in it that could have possible soaked into the seals and may be leaching out? medicines, treatments, how did he clean it any soaps of any kind?

also test your water. if its ok maby dump it out and try a new batch. you may have to get distilled or r/o water from somewhere. you wouldnt believe whats in drinking water in some areas

There are some fine air bubbles but not that many its a creamy cloud but its still transparent its actually not really noticable until the lights are on and if I recall it was a like this before I added the salt. I only washed the tank w/ tap water no soap and I used distilled water when I filled the tank. I dont think my friend added anything to the tank, he didnt have it more than a year, probable less, but Ill ask him. Is there anyway I can do to know if it is the salt w/o mixing up a whole new batch (example ALK test)? If not do you think IO will refund me the money, or give me new salt (good salt) for free? I already used almost $30.00 in salt.

Ya Just do an ALK test. if the dkh value is above 14 I would say it's the salt. I have know 4 or 5 people that have returned the salk for a exchange. You can get your LFS to mix a small batch in the store to check the Alk before you go home.

Um, ok. I wasn't trying to be a kook, or jab at you. It was a simple warning about a possiable situation that might arise from you saying something about a company that could be construed as liable. Since I have direct, first hand expereince with this, I thought I should let you know, thats all. I really wasn't trying to attack you or make you look bad.
